The Loopbox
Some songs are just an excuse to listen to a really great piece of melody over and over again. It's the part that people whistle on the street or the part that gets mixed into a mashup. Sometimes you really don't need an intro, outro or bridge, you just need those four amazing seconds of music.
The Loopbox originally started as a way of annoying my housemates but quickly turned into a website with some 30 loops. A friend submitted the link to stumbleupon and three days later traffic boomed.
Since going live near the end of 2008 the loopbox logged a little over 300.000 visits. I started tracking individual plays near the end of 2010 and am now close to celebrating 225.000 plays. The Loopbox continuous to attract visitors, some love it, some don't. I keep looping though, as the site now has around 230 loops on it.
When I have to time I try to work on a new version (updated design and some nice features) as much as possible.
